In view of my ancestry, the Scottish Reformation and Presbyterianism has come to be of marked interest to me. Both were influenced by John Calvin, John Knox, and others. These will be further pursued here.

John Knox was the primary author of the Scottish Reformation. He spent many years in exile in order to avoid being burned at the stake by the likes of Queen Mary Tudor ("Bloody Mary"). He was an associate of John Calvin. He was a prolific writer - he wrote "The History of the Scottish Reformation". His confrontations with Queen Mary Stuart (Queen Mary of Scots) didn't get him burned at the stake; but it was close.
